3 Easy Steps

Virtual Training
Our online training will give you an opportunity to understand the work we do. It contains videos, downloadbles, and other engaging resources for your volunteer journey and beyond.

Schedule a Q and A Call
Once you complete the training, you will schedule a Q and A call. This call will take place on Zoom, and will be about 30-45 minutes. During this call we will make sure you are comfortable using the app, and you will be able to ask questions.

Join the Support Hub
After you complete both parts of the training, we will send you an invite to join our Support Hub on BAND. You will be able to start taking volunteer shifts from your own phone, wherever you are.
Become a Brave App Supporter
We are people-powered - all of the calls that come in through the Brave App are answered by real live humans. Before taking calls, all of our volunteers go through a training program that prepares them for the heart-centered work of supporting people using drugs alone.

What happens if I need help while I am on a call with someone?
Every time you take a call, you will be able to ask questions and get assistance by reaching out through our Support Hub. We also have important information posted at the top of the hub so that you can access it in an instant. We got you!
I just started volunteering, but I am not getting any calls when I am toggled on. Am I doing something wrong?
It is hard to tell when calls will come in, because every human reaching out for support is different and operating on their own schedule. Some shifts you will have lots of calls, while others you won't have a single one. A good idea is to pay attention to the chat in the Support Hub, where you will often see requests to take transfer calls or to toggle on during especially busy times.
I am not very tech-savvy. Will I be able to use The Brave App?
We built the app to be used by everyone, no matter what their skillsets with tech are. The app has a simple, easy-to-navigate layout with everything you need quickly accessible on the app.
